NOW WHAT? • Rerun #2697

https://www.irregularwebcomic.net/2697.html
2025-03-08 Rerun commentary: Yes, those statues in the background are two different ages of Obi-Wan Kenobi. I don't remember specifically why I chose to use those in this strip, other than it being just an extra visual gag for the observant.
The two minifigures in the background are also the minifigures used for Marcus and Julius in the Imperial Rome theme. As such, one plausible reason for the choice of the Obi-Wan minifigures as statues in the Classical Museum of Tripoli is that they are an obvious answer to the question "What does a lifelike Classical Roman statue look like in the parts of this comic that use Lego minifigures to represent the characters?" Another possibility is that this is an unmarked and forgotten crossover with the Imperial Rome theme, hinting at an unseen adventure and revealing the ultimate fates of Marcus and Julius or perhaps setting something up for an unrealized "Marcus and Julius in modern times" gag/storyline.
