I see your point, that dragons are clearly people in that they're highly intelligent, but my personal expectation would be to never see dragons on a list of a world's peoples; they're above people, they would thoroughly reject the notion of being people, because they're more grand and special than that. I think very highly of dragons, there's a reason they're largely the symbol of the very concept of fantasy. I'm a "yes, dragons should have six limbs, but if you call a dragon a wyvern just because it has no arms I will beat you to death" type.
Hm... where was this later reference to fforbes-Davis? I couldn't find the phrase "mad cloner" anywhere in the comic archive. A recap, you say...? Where might I find that? If I'm making this adaptation, there shouldn't be any piece of IWC lore I'm unaware of. I must know more. (which reminds me, I still don't have a copy of the Cliffhangers book, I'd better look into that, learn of its extra tidbits...)
We cranked out a whole bunch of those character blogs over winter break, here's another four chapters, covering the first big story arc of the planned series -- call it Volume 1, consisting of a few mini-arcs along the path to reach Ardaxar.
Chapter 5: https://tapasandstuff.blogspot.com/2023 ... sy_31.html - Elusian River story arc.
Chapter 6: https://tapasandstuff.blogspot.com/2024 ... ntasy.html - Orcrift Mountains story arc.
Chapter 7: https://tapasandstuff.blogspot.com/2024 ... asy_4.html - Swamp of Terror story arc.
Chapter 8: https://tapasandstuff.blogspot.com/2024 ... asy_6.html - Great Sea of Storms story arc.
Only five more chapters to go, because, well, at this point I know the earlier stages of the story in the most detail and the later stages in only broad strokes. So, four blog entries for the pilot alone, four for Volume 1, then... pretty much three for Volume 2 and two for Volume 3. The events of Volume 2 are far more vague to me than those of Volume 1, but I do know it'll be very grand in scope and introduce many new faces, many of them familiar ones from the comic, so still takes up a few pages. After that things are much more vague, enough so that I really don't know the identities of anyone debuting in Volume 4 or later; new characters are less of a priority in the second half of a story.
