Ohh, I really want to congrat Memnarch for this one: He linked to strip 943, with this commentary:
And ... is it possible that Jar-Jar didn't die, despite all appearances and the destroyed planet?

Lets see. Anakin was reincarnated in Luke, advanced cloning is all over the prequel (and the Fetts), Nute is uploaded into a computer, in some sense Obiwan is undead, ... who has moved on to another plane of existence? In a roleplaying game, just because you're dead doesn't necessarily mean you're gone. There are plenty of ways to come back or simply keep going. You can be resurrected, you can be reincarnated in another bodily form, you can have your personality transferred into a clone, you can be uploaded into a computer, you can become undead, you can move on to another plane of existence from which you might conceivably return. You could even never have been dead in the first place, despite all appearances.
This is all well and fine if applied to PCs, since they are the characters the players have invested time and effort into making an integral part of their gaming lives, and it's often intensely sad to see them expire.
But nobody ever said GMs can't apply this to villains as well...

I'm in an RPG based on one of the fallout games, where the party of PC's has found out that the responders/brotherhood have been driven out of fort defiance, so we're heading over there to see what's going on. The GM has made certain that we, the players, understand that this is end-game territory, but the characters think it's a simple scouting job. And of course we were advised not to, so ...If you really want a PC to do something inadvisable (for the hilarity drama), the best thing is to advise them not to do it.
