Episode 2446: For some weird reason, I get an internal server error if I put in the actual episode title.
The basic problem with the peasant railgun is that it uses RAW right up until it achieves a ridiculous result, and then it abandons RAW and attempts to apply real-world physics to that. So, yeah, by RAW, you can use a peasant relay to transport objects ludicrous distances in short times, but that speed doesn't apply any actual velocity to the object. You can line up 1056 peasants and move a quarterstaff a mile in six seconds, but, by RAW, when it leaves the 1056th peasant's hands, it's not 600 MPH projectile that does 300d6 damage. It's an improvised thrown weapon that does 1d4.
And if you really need a quarterstaff rapidly, it's actually a lot faster and requires many fewer peasants to just craft it at the destination. Crafting times and material costs are determined by finished item cost, and quarterstaves are free, so they take zero time or materials to craft. Anyone who can make the Craft check can instantly generate one out of thin air at any time.
