General D&D discussion • Shapeshifting in Da&Dr

I had some questions about the game mechanics of shapeshifting in the campaign(s), and not finding a comprehensive thread on it, I have created this to house all of the instances we see of shapeshifting so we can compile what they can and cannot do based on evidence.

Episode 0240 is the first instance we see of shapeshifters. Zam Wessel. Once killed, her body changes form into something else roughly the same size and shape (still humanoid). Her clothes are unaffected.

Episode 0873 is where Wedge is introduced in the Yavin Peace Moon attack briefing.
Episode 0885 we next see Wedge in the battle, but he looks different (but still human). His clothes are the same. The CIs point out that he was recast in the film in 1977.
Episode 0901 is where Wedge reveals that he is a shapeshifter.

Episode 1314 at the Endor Peace Moon briefing Wedge reveals that after being shot down, he makes his way to an Imperial Base, shapeshifts into a Bothan, and was able to snoop freely.

Episode 1575 shows Wedge again shapeshifted into a humanoid alien. There is also a flashback which shows Wedge shapeshifted as a human (different than his regular look).
Episode 1576 has Wedge fake his own death by having Cassian shoot him. "Wedge: I'll be fine, just aim clear of my splanch! I'll shapeshift into your corpse and escape after they bury me."
Episode 1577 tells that Wedge shapeshifted into another living person and just walked out of the morgue.

Episode 2179 reveals that Kylo Ren is a shapeshifter. He was a Rodian child at the Boonta Eve race when young Anakin brawled with him and left him for dead. He said he shapeshifted into his own corpse. It also reveals that his shapeshifting ability allows him to avoid having helmet hair.

Episode 2585 shows Wedge as a humanoid alien with large horns.
Episode 2616 shows a paper-mache decoy of Wedge's 'decapitated' large horned head, which he made in solitary confinement and used as a ruse while he escaped out the ventilation shaft.

I get the feeling that I've missed something about Kylo's splanch being damaged and preventing him from shapeshifting anymore, but I can't find the references.

So looking at all of these references, it seems that the rules are:
* Shapeshifters use their splanch to change their bodies
* They can only change their bodies, not their clothes
* They can only change into something roughly the same size and shape as their body.
* They may be able to use their shapeshifting abilities to heal their own wounds.

Have I missed anything else?
